Understanding self-harm in the general population

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this post. I am a PhD researcher at the University of Strathclyde who is studying the thoughts, feelings and behaviours of those who self-harm.

I am looking for people aged 18 years and over and who have self-harmed in the last three months. The study invites you to complete two online questionnaires three months apart. They will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. The study has received ethical approval from the University Ethics Committee at Strathclyde (Reference: UEC 18/72) which includes recruiting from forums not affiliated with the NHS. Taking part is completely voluntary.

The researcher can be contacted by emailing the researcher's direct email address:
The research supervisor, Dr Mark Elliott, can also be contacted by email:

More information about what participation in this study involves and the link to take part can be accessed via:

Thank you again for taking the time to read this post.
