Ah. Could you create multiple alarms to go off every five minutes or so?

Yeah I could try that. So annoyed though that he didn't change my medication yesterday.

What were you hoping for? I think that he'd be more likely to consider changing your meds when you have an appointment with him and have time to discuss things. Yesterday seemed like a sort of crisis visit from what you've described.

The plan was yesterday he was gonna sort out the change of meds over the phone but then he came to see me randomly and said I wasn't stable enough.

I guess it’s hard for them to know whether you need a meds change, when you aren’t taking the meds you are currently on.

But I am I only occasionally forget to take them. I don't understand why he doesn't think I'm stable and I don't know what he's implying.

Didn't you completely stop taking them for a while? If you've just started taking them more regularly again then the psych might want you to stick with them for a while to get them back into your system and see how that goes. Can you ask the psych or someone else to explain what he meant?

Yeah I did but I started taking them again just before Christmas. Maybe but I'm not sure I want to know. I'm seeing the psych again on the 14th and hopefully then he'll change the meds but wish he had done it when he saw me the other day.

Unfortunately you can't change what he has decided but you can put your wishes across again when you see him on the 14th.

Yeah true. I'm really nervous about the appt. And I'm nervous about the CPN appt Tuesday.

Even though the psychiatrist is nice and seems to care, I'm kinda scared of psychiatrists as silly as that sounds and can feel intimidated by them. I'm also worried he will stay I'm still unstable and won't change the meds over.

I'm worried about my CPN appt as my mum is going to come and I can imagine how that will go.

It doesn't sound silly at all, psychiatrists are professionals and any professional can be scary especially when you already feel anxious and they are making decisions about your treatment. Are there ways you can prepare for the appointment?

Is it necessary for your Mum to come to your CPN appointment, if you don't want her there that is?

Thanks for understanding and I'm not sure. I need to remember to ask for sleeping tablets if he does change my medication.

I think it is yeah it's my only chance to get the CPN to listen to me and consider giving me more hours. I'm so nervous though.

Maybe writing some things down for your appointment would be useful and also try and take some time where you're not thinking about it and focusing on something more relaxing. That way you can be prepared and also attempt to not overwhelm yourself with worry.

Do you think your Mum will be able to communicate your needs to the CPN?

I think she can, yes. Just worried it will get the CPN's back up.

What do you think the impact of 'getting the CPN's back up' would be?

I'd hope she would act in a professional manner. She is there to support you not to judge you and treat you differently. Have you spoken to your Mum about what you might like her to say?
