Lump and pain in arm pit

I have a big lump under my arm pit and it's really painful.
I can't touch it it hurts so much.
It's red and agitated.

My mum want me to see a doctor because it's too painful to wash or shave. But it all feel a bit dramatic.
I don't wanna be a drama queen.

Has any one had this type of thing before and what could I expect if I saw a health professional?

It is not something I have had before, maybe it would be worth phoning 111 to see what they suggest.

Anything that is causing you pain and discomfort is worth seeking help for. I can't say for sure what they would want to do but I imagine they would want to look at the inflamed area and/or examine that area and maybe compare to the other arm pit.

It could be a boil - I had one there which caused pain.

I agree that you should get it checked out - try putting a warm compress several times a day in the area. I know it helped me.

Any lumps round that area should be checked out. It's probably just a cyst ir boil. But get a drs opinion.

Thanks guys.
My mum made me go to the walk in centre today because I struggled to have a shower because of the pain.

They prescribed antibiotics and said it's likely an infected lymph node. But if it's still the same after a week using the medicine I have to see my gp or go back to the walk in centre.

I have sought medical advice now so I guess this thread can be closed.

Thanks again x
