I have always cut over old scars, as I always cut in the same area to hide my incisions. I definitely noticed that my skin has gotten much tougher. They do bleed less, and take longer to heal; however this is not a bad thing for me, because I often wait to cut again until my old marks heal a bit.

I sense fear in your broken breathing- your desire is giving you away.

I might suggest starting a new thread just given the age here, usually we try to do that to prevent "zombie threads" - but as this is your first post I wanted to give you a legit reply regardless, though this will likely be locked. I think as a lot of folks said in this thread, it is possible to self harm on top of scars. The thing is they tend to not heal so quickly and it can make stitches etc a bit more difficult at least in my experience having doctors complain at me about it being harder. I'd definitely suggest trying other coping methods before going straight to self harming if at all possible in general.

^this! I will be closing due to age but Celeste, do feel free to send me a PM if you'd like me to move your post to its own thread to get responses. OP, feel free to PM if you would like this reopened at any point.

No other sadness in the world would do
