Contains abuse - So scared for my best friend

Hi guys. I'm not a regular poster or replier here, but I am desperately worried for my best friend, and so so scared that very soon I'm going to get a phone call soon to tell me she's in hospital or worse.

I've just found out that she's in a physically abusive relationship, and has in the past reported incidents to the police and withdrawn them. She told me that if it happened again, she'd walk away...but it's happened and I don't know if she's leaving or if she's safe or anything. She won't reply to my contact and I have no idea what to do. I live an hour and a half's drive away from her house and have no idea where she is.

Has anyone got any advice for me to support her and to help her through this? I'm so f*cking scared

Hi there.
I'm really sorry to hear about your friend.
When I was in that situation the best thing my best friend did was to not let me push him away. No matter what I did he kept reminding he was there to listen. You can't force someone out of that kind of situation..they need to be ready to.
Be yhere as a friend and show she does have support.

Have you heard from her? It must be worrying to hear about a friend that is in this situation but at the end of the day all you can do is be there for her. She has to make the decision herself to leave him as hard as that can be to watch sometimes

Again sorry for the really late reply, been doing some insane shifts at work (24 hours, ouch!!) and it's really caught up with me!!

I've heard from her, he attacked her again and the last I heard she has left him but doesn't know if she's strong enough to go through the court trial. He is now saying that she has been lying the whole time and that he's in the right. I hope so so much that she can get through this, I can't imagine how hard it must be.

How can he be in the right if he beats and physcially abuses her? She has done the right thing and is so lucky to have you. Be strong for her and always be there when she needs you.

I had a friend in a similar situation, as everyone else has said all you can do is be there and not push things. it is good she has left him, i know this was a massive step for my friend to take.

I think he's so far into his own little world of righteousness that he has no clue of what is right and wrong in a normal society. I really really hope that she can keep strong through this bit. Thanks again guys x

I am glad she left and he is definitely not in the right. If she doesn't feel up to the court trial at the moment that's okay, the important thing is that she is safe. Take care
