Animad, you've got a lot of good points - the only problem with your posts in this thread, to me, is this: If people can't be bothered to check if there are articles, or stickies, or results of a search function, can they be bothered to read long posts? ;)

So how about...
  • Use common sense
  • Use the search function
  • No attention whores allowed, innit
  • See a doctor
  • Give FAAs much love at all times
Does that cover it just about?

Sarah: Give me the child.
Jareth: Sarah beware. I have been generous up till now. I can be cruel.
Sarah: Generous? What have you done that's generous?
Jareth: Everything! Everything you have wanted I have done. You asked the child be taken, I took him. You cowered before me, I was frightening. I have reordered time. I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you! I am exhausted from living up to your expectations of me. Isn't that generous?

Yeh, pretty much that as well as
  • READ THE RULES as they are additional to the general RYL ones,
  • try not to be competitive or post in a competitive manner (we don't need to know how many cuts you did at once/ how many times you've ODd in a certain length of time, if needed the FAAs will ask via PM)
  • bear in mind we're stretched as a team at the moment so don't expect an urgent reliable reply
  • read the articles; they answer most questions self-harm type stuff/ caring for wounds/ EDs and were all written, checked and re-checked by the team and themselves all took some time to write, we don't particularly want to write them in posts
It is getting rather wearing and the amount of queries are generally going up at the moment, some of which have been asked many times, even asked by that user before so if you think you've asked it before then maybe check in your profile and the thread's you've made in the FAF/ elsewhere?

We have also got the FAQs on the mainsite and they're just that. When written it was literally a case of going through the forum and looking at the number of times certain questions had been asked and they do give short, simple answers to the questions asked more frequently at the time of writing (around 18months ago I think) and many of those are still in the top asked questions now; they weren't a case of lets think what may be asked a lot. They cover everything from what to do if you purge up blood to how to care for wounds to the signs and how to cope with a panic attack and MANY things between.

People tend to take less notice of stickies and tbh we have the rules which has many of the aspects of this in there and we have all the articles either in/ linked to in one of the stickies so it wouldn't really add much. People tend to read threads that are floating round more rather than stickies so I want it to stay here for a bit longer maybe and then see how things go, maybe carry on bumping it for a while or just let it lie depending how the threads go and stuff and then if I feel similar/ the same needs saying at a later date then it could be bumped up again but yeh, I feel it'll get even more attention flating around right now.

Hope that makes sense.
