What would (Question)

What would the doctor do/say if you told him that you'd been purging a lot in the past six month, but not currently? (As in having had NO histroy of eating disorder beforehand).

Prob send you for a blood test and ask if you want to be referred to a team.

Imperfection is underrated.

Probably ask for a blood test and then question you on how things are now in relation to eating and how you are feeling right now.

What would you like to come from it/what would you like your GP to do/say?

Depends how long you haven't been purging for. If it's been months, there's a chance they would not send you for bloodwork. But even so, they might anyways.

Other than that, they'd ask you questions relating to your ED, history and mental state and refer you to a therapist who deals with EDs. Not necessarily a specialized team, it depends what resources are available in your area. If there are ED teams accepting new patients, then probably that, but if it's more like a general mental health center, they might just send you there and you'd be able to get a psychiatrist, case manager, therapist, and maybe other supports.

They also may reccommend a nutritionist if you are willing to work on meal plans and vitamins and such.

It is definitely a step in the right direction to do that. I hope you decide to!

I told my doctor that I'd been purging / restricting a lot and he referred me to an ED team before making another appointment to get my bloods done when I'd had my assessment done with them. I haven't had any "real" history with an eating disorder before but he took me seriously when I was honest with him.

Ask your GP these questions, too. I'm sure they'll tell you what's going to happen if you asked.
