how can things go so good right now in my life,
yet every night i still get the severely intense urge to cut myself.

Hey there,

It sounds like you're struggling quite a bit at the moment, could you express how you are feeling a little bit more?

Sometimes it's hard to know what is bothering us deep inside, and even when everything appears 'normal' and happy from the outside, we are still in pain. Is there anything which isn't apparent on the outside which is bothering you right now? It's okay to have the urge when you feel happy, it's hard for the urge to go and can take some time. Your life doesn't necessarily need to be 'bad' for you to be hurting inside.

Stay safe, take care.

Have you ever looked fear in the face and said "I just don't care"?

Hey,

That sounds really difficult for you, but isn't unusual for this to happen to people. Does anything help you usually to avoid harming yourself?

I'm glad that things are going so well otherwise for you. Maybe in the evenings you could do something to bring your focus to the good things going on, hopefully to reduce the urges? I've heard a lot of good things about Gratitude journals, where you write down (even dot points) things you're grateful for. Its supposed to be effective in relieving depression, and maybe will help you see you dont need to self harm?

I hope you're okay, keep talking with us, we are here for you x

It's hard when it seems like we have no reason to self-harm but your not alone in feeling this way. Often even when things appear to be good on the outside, there is still something bothering us on the inside so perhaps that is worth exploring. Can you have a list of distractions you can use when the urges get too much? A great list of distractions can be found here. Take care
