ok,i know we already have a couple of threads for individual books by her, but i thought we could have a nice big thread for all her wonderful, wonderful books
today i went into town and bought.... 7 of her books i now have no money lol
and as i am slightly obsessed i thought we should have a thread on here about her books
so, what's your favourite one?
mine are nineteen minutes and the pact.
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you land among the stars
Nineteen Minutes [because I was bullied at school and can relate]
Keeping Faith [because it raises lots of interesting questions, particularly re mother-daughter relationship]
i've read...
-nineteen minutes
-my sister's keeper
-the pact
and i've just started reading change of heart... i wanna keep on reading it but i have to go to work in 30 mins
and i have all her other books piled up waiting to be read!!!!
does anyone else find them all really sad?! i've cried at all the ones i've read so far!!!!
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you land among the stars
I cried at My Sister's Keeper :(
That was the first book of hers that I read and I loved it.
I've also read Salem Falls, The Pact, The Tenth Circle, Plain Truth, Keeping Faith, Second Glance, Vanishing Acts and I've recently started Change of Heart but I've not got very far with it yet.
I really enjoyed Plain Truth. That's probably one of my favourites.
I found The Tenth Circle a bit strange at first with the comic book art through it but I did like the story so in the end I did end up enjoying it.
i have read my sister's keeper, i did cry when i read it.
“Never lose faith in yourself,
and never lose hope;
remember, even when this world throws its worst and then turns its back,
there is still always hope.”
I haven't read all of her books, but I simply ADORE Jodi Picoult!
I've read (in order):
Second Glance
My Sister's Keeper
The Tenth Circle
Mercy.
My Sister's Keeper followed closely by Second Glance are my favourites but I loved how she included a hidden message to find out within the comic strips within The Tenth Circle! I really need to buy some more of her books... she's such an amazing writer!
i LOVE her!!!!! i have read all of them apart from second glance which i am currently readin now, my sisters keeper is being made in a film Cameran Diaz is playing the mum was a bit dissapointed not how i imagined it!
My favs are The Pact, my sisters keeper and 19 mins xx
' Your always going to have the hurt, you may as well use it'
'Writing can be a way of righting any wrongs that have been done to you'
'Scars tell a story of where u have been, but they dont have to dictate where u are going'
i read change of heart last night, until 2am, which wasn't exactly a great thing for me to do on a school night... lol
but being tired all day was definately worth it!!! it is really really brilliant, and has some really interesting topics in, like the death penalty and the gnostic gospels... or maybe it's just geeky old me who finds it interesting!!
Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you land among the stars
I've only read My Sister's Keeper but it was so absolutely amazing!!! I do not cry easily when reading books but this one really made me cry(even though I sneaked a peak of the end to see what happened) but it wasn't what happened that made me cry cause I suspected it anyways, it's how it happened. It was very good and I'd like to read more of her books.
I find some of what you teach suspect
Because I'm used to relying on intellect
But I try to open up to what I don't know
Because reason says I should have died
