I want to get a butterfly to cover one of my scars, I don't SI anymore and that way with the placing I won't really regret it. I figure I'd rather have a butterfly visible on me forever than a scar! I've got to wait a year and a bit to get it though, so if I still want it by then it's a definate!

ive thought on getting a SI related tattoo, never really thought of the ribbon but i dont think that would be what i would getm i would prefer words 'remember the stars' - Renee Yohe

You might want to be careful with this.Spoke to my tattooist a while back and he mentioned that tattooing over scar tissue is like tattooing on a cheese greater and can enhance the scars there....Might want to check with whoever you go to that they can do a decent job. :)

Thought I oughta bare my naked feelings
Thought I oughta tear the curtain down
I held the blade in trembling hands
Prepared to make it but just then the phone rang
I never had the nerve to make the final cut

I dont think the ribbon would trigger me, the ribbon is a symbol of survival, of recovery. I think it would be a reminder of overcoming your battle with SI. :)

i didnt know there was a SH ribbon, i wll have to google it now.
ive been wanting to get a tat aswel to kinda show what ive gone threough and what i have over come, but then dont want it to be obvious, as i just want it to be something for myself.
i was thining of getting a red teardrop on my theigh or on my wrist, both places that ive SH. but im liking the idea of the ribbon now
