And Lio, I'm jealous! I'd love to have the room for a few chickens!

I should of guessed from your username tbh :p
I saw a feature on tv the other day about a couple who had a goat farm, and I was like WANT.
My second syrian hamster only had three feet! My father called him tripod :'(

Sorry, I appear to be derailing le thread with interrogating everyone about their pets =S

My dad wants chickens... he keeps saying he'll buy them. He did say that he wanted geese but I made him draw the line!

I want to meet your zoo, Jenna.
And there's no problem derailing the thread with animal-related awesomeness! My cat is currently sat on my knee, scared because we're looking after my grandma's puppy for the day (I forgot how crazy puppies can be!), though she's with mum right now - I don't know why Jess is scared, Gretl (the dog)'s smaller than him! And then my other two cats (rescue cats) are in different room. Honestly, it feels like we've got a zoo going on here!

I have a coffee. Nomonom.

I haven't read the whole thread apologies, but hello :)

I'm Alex, graduated in June & now work in recruitment. Woopwoop.

I don't however have any pets, and never have! :(

^ One of my cats is called Millie :D (though we didn't pick it, it's a lovely name)!

What do you work as, Ann, if you don't mind me asking?

"Romp' is just fine.
*waves* to shiny new peeps.
I'll add to the zoo bits; we have a shepard/collie X (Tye, 12), a coonhound (Dutch,11) and our 'not so new' puppy, husky/malamute (Sasha, 1), plus our cats; Shelaighley (mom) and Nimby (baby)...all rescues.
So, a bit of a zoo.
And my poor mother, who is staying with us atm, and who is not used to more than one pet at a time!

Good god Romp!

I know that I would have 2 cats at a time if they got along - my current cat will not tolerate a second - I tried - and he did come first.

And I would have 2 rabbits but I can't - my current rabbit won't tolerate another - I tried - and she did come first.

Does anyone see my theme here! ; )

^ We introduced our cats slowly because the two rescue ones were new and Jess was here first, so we're still working at it. They're no trouble though really :). But some don't get along... which is annoying but nature, I guess.

Haha, I'm noticing a theme!

I have little to add (very rarely post in Vets), but chickens are awesome. They pretty much look after themselves. Feed them in the morning, and put out water and then they'll also eat your scraps and give you eggs in return for your kindness.

I spent part of my time in France looking after chickens. And a few ducks. They were my babies, and they definitely came to know me as the food woman. I even saw the chicks hatching, most amazing thing ever!

I am Claire to those who don't know.
