Biting?
Does anyone else bite themselves or is it just me?

I think there are lots of people who do. I have personally in the past but not often. What do you think about biting yourself, is it something you'd like to overcome?
|
I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.
Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.
You didn't come this far just to come this far.

What do you get from biting that helps? Is it pain that helps, expressing yourself, focusing on external stuff instead of what's going on in your mind...

I'm sorry you feel like you have to punish yourself, I can relate to that. It would be good if you could instead decide to take care of yourself and build on that. How does biting help you to deal with your emotions and thoughts?

I know biting is something I've used many times for the punishment reason you stated, but also I've noticed that there's a tiny bit of calmness just as it's happening, because the punishment is happening then and there. So for a little bit, you can drive the thought away. For me, that's only a little bit though, and before I know it, I'll end up thinking about it to no end. It's not something I really like because it's a very self-defeating thing, and it drives me quickly in a bad spiral.
Is this something that you experience?
