Hi there,
I am sorry to hear you are struggling with this.
I can relate to feeling lost without your label/diagnosis/mental illness.
I think for me personally the illness that most feels like my personality is my BPD. It is really difficult, especially as I literally can't remember a time when I didn't show any symptoms of it right back to my early childhood.
The harmful behaviors have been part of your daily life for a really long time and mental illness tends to consume all your energy and strip your life off anything outside of it.
If you trust your friends/family enough I would suggest maybe asking them to write down a few things about you that they like.
Use the time and energy you're not spending on your mental illness to explore and discover new things about yourself. Try new hobbies, meet new people, research things you might want to do with your life.
I think re- discovering who you are after quitting behaviors is still a big part of recovery and every bit as important.
