Adult - Can you ever say you are an ex SH

I first sh when I was 14 I did it until I was 16, then I began pulling my hair out, in fistfulls so I had bald patches. I started sh again when I discovered my daughter was sh, my daughter thankfully has stopped, but sees a therapist if she feels triggered. I sh for about 6yrs the second time, and am npe on medication, I then left a stressful job and marriage and managed not to sh for just under 6 years, now I'm doing baby cuts so not really harming. But it did make me wonder will the sh cure always be my go to? Don't think I can go through a proper relapse, struggling x

You have fought hard bless you.

But any form, even baby cuts, is still sh. I had a relapse a few weeks back. It was barely a scratch. But I knew it was still sh, first time in years.

It's a hard thing to escape once you start. When you hit that rough point, even just the stressful, the thought appears. Try to find something else, as hard as it is.

And I'd always be willing to talk if that's what you need.

My silly little moment, had a lot of pain going on (stress from lockdown, lack of money and owing money, and then losing someone dear to me, he was like a little brother) and ended up feeling very alone early hours of the morning with no one to talk to. As I said, barely a scratch, but first time in 5 years after my 2nd sh period. And after I felt so stupid and ashamed for giving in to that old whim.

We just have to keep fighting Please message me if you need.

No you aren't pathetic. You are struggling. Like we all have. It's a hard thing to fight.

I am always here to talk if you need. Sometimes, a chat helps.
