SI Question - poss. infected cuts *graphic SI trigger*

the cuts happened on sunday it's now thursday and the're lookiing worse all swollen and hot+more painful than usual there's been no pus for a few hours and it doesnt smell that bad now but ive been feeling unwell from it and wondered if it is infected and whether or not i can treat it at home. my tetnus jab expired years ago will that have any bearing?

Sounds like it might be infected. I would recomened getting it checked over.
Your tetanusshould have no bearing on it. As long as you have had 5 in your life time (which most people have in school)you are cvered for life.

Between getting seen make sure that you look after the wound. You need to apply plenty of anti bacterial cream to it. Use a tubigrip to hold it in place. Keep the wound clean and dry and apply more cream, change the dressing frequently.

i think i had 3 tetnus jabs but im only just out of school
hope you dont mind me asking but where do you buy the anti-bacterial cream ive only seen antisceptic cream and what is the difference?

If you had your regular jabs in school and you usually have some as a baby then you should be covered.
The 2 creams work in a slightly differnt way. Antibacterial can usually be bought in most chemists. However, if you can only get antisceptic cream then you can use this.
