Being referred to ED services

Hey,
My CPN said to me yesterday that he was referring me to the ED services. I was just wandering what happens now? I don't think my eating is that much of a problem but he seems to think it is.

Also will this affect the other help I'm getting for bpd? Thanks just really scared x

Hey,
Being refereed to ED services is a good thing. Dont worry to much about it. Your first appointment is just an assessment. At mine i had to fill out a few forms on how i felt towards myself (what parts of my body i hated etc). Then they just ask you a few questions about your daily routine, what behaviors do you do if any, what do you eat, how do you feel etc. Each assessment varies but thats usually the main part of it. They will then tell you whether or not their services would benefit you & what they have to offer. Its pretty laidback &not intimidating.

Good Luck x

Oh right thank you :)

Out of interest what BMI do the NHS make people IP? (this might be triggering so maybe PM me? If that's okay?).

It doesnt matter about bmi, its about how physically unwell you are. I was at a very low bmi and wasnt hospitalised.

Numbers arent allowed on the board im sorry. But it doesnt matter about BMI anyway, they take in alot of different BMIs it depends on what you need.

I went inpatient on and ed unit at a normal BMI and was detained for 6month.
There is no magic number for ED inpatient. Basically if your very sick as a result of your eating habit you could be admitted.

Don't worry you will just get an assessment first and the ED service will decide weather you are suitable for there service.
As for you bpd treatment, you will have to ask your team. It works differently in eat trust.
