Contains abuse - how do i stand up for myself?

how do i stand up for myself when people mistreat me or abuse me.

my parents turned me into the perfect victim. im disabled and fighting a life threatening illness. it is debilitating and painful

but i get mistreated and abused by people who dont know me and i have no support. im isolated so theres no one to stand up for me

i dont even know where to find friends

people are angry at me and treat me like a criminal because i am disabled and look different. i have to deal with physical violence from strangers also

it is really bad and im scared because they do not stop. im attacked by predators all the time

or sociopaths

i get stalked for years by a psychopath group of friends because of seizures

and they do not give up because they know no one stands up for me

im intellectually disabled and have dementia also so it is very hard to know every day how to respond. or what to do

i also am not straight so i get harrased for my orientation being not straight.

Hiya,
I have replied to one of your previous posts and I am sorry to hear you are still struggling. I have seen that you struggle with psychosis. Do you receive any support for the psychosis?
it sounds like you are living in fear. i do think you need to be brave and speak out about this. you must see doctors regularly, could you talk to them about it? do you live alone? it might be a good idea to live with someone if you feel vulnerable.
in terms of where to find friends, could you use the internet to find people in your local area to socialise with?

Modest is right. Talking to someone and getting help would be your best option I belive. I just had to visit my dad for two weeks and I got abused by him and his new wife. I'm going to start seeing a therapist and writing things down in a journal perhaps you could do that? Im sorry to hear you aren't doing well but if you ever want to talk

Most bullies are cowards. They feel stronger by picking on someone they see as weaker. They want a reaction. That's where you can get back at them.

If someone tells a dirty joke and nobody laughs the joke teller feels exposed. If you dont react the way a bully wants (with fear and or anger) they will feel exposed. Now its ok to feel nervous . Just dont add anger to it because bullies love to see anger from victims because it serves as a distraction and keeps them from seeing themselves.

Even if you're scared you can tell bullies they are acting inferior for picking on you. If you have a little spunk that scares a lot of them. Carry a camera and take pic of anyone who bullies you. Tell them you'll go to the authorities if they keep it up. That will scare more of them. Some might get angrier at first but if you dont get angry or timid they cant help but fail and will back off. Some might even start to respect you and you'll get a new friend

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling so much right now and that you're having such troubles.

As mentioned above, it might be worth looking into what support you could access in the community. There are organisations which are set up to give support and protection to vulnerable adults. It may be worth looking into things available in your area.

I find the internet is useful for trying to find social groups or meeting new people. Perhaps it'd be worth googling some of your interests and seeing if there are any social groups locally?

As Isoverity said, bullies are essentially cowards and a lack of reaction to their behaviour will make them become bored with trying to get one out of you. It's hard because when someone attacks us, we want to retaliate but that is what they want and what they enjoy.

Take care,

Katie.
