Slip up

Anyone have any advice for when you slip up and relapse in the heat of a moment after an argument or bad days? I've been SI free for several years until I encountered some medical issues and with my depression and SI,my doctor didn't believe me and said it was all in my head, I was fill in the blank here. That was the same day I was yelled at by several people at work,as well as written up and then yelled at at home in the heat of the moment in an argument. I haven't done anything since then and don't plan to but I feel horrible that I did it in the first place.

My advice? Admit that you slipped up but also believe that it doesn't have to be anything other than a one-off slip and then get right back on the recovery bandwagon, which it sounds like you already have :) This doesn't take away from the progress you've made in years of being SI free and you are several years wiser now; you're not right back where you started.

Unsure if that helps, apologies if not!

No other sadness in the world would do
