Look, to be honest I didn't think this would be met so negatively.
I didn't think I had to make an argument.
I thought if I could just stop and make people think about the options available to them then that would be a nice thing to do.
Btu apparently no one wants to hear.
Lets just forget about this as clearly no one has anything positive to say.
What would be wrong with saying "hey it's not for me but if you want to that's fine"?
I mean really I feel as if society had pushed women into feeling as if this is something disgusting, it's just a little bit of blood.
I didn't expect everyone to turn around ad say that it was great but I didn't expect to feel like quite such a minority either.
Everyone is going to have theyre own opinion on this thread.
I think a hell of people are going to say it's wrong, and disgusting.
Personally, I'm quite happy with what I use, but at the end of the day, Each to they're own.
Very nice if thats what you believe but um not for me thanks. The thought of it is making me wana spew over my lunch. And i mean I think theres a few other things i could do for the planet before i'd think about doing that.
I mean good luck with it if thats your choice but just not for me thanks. I am actually quite stunned at this thread. Just wow.
Am sorry I haven't read all the links - the image of the inverted condom the woman was holding on the UK cup site and imagining that in my coochy kind of made me die inside...
Yeah could someone tell me what's wrong with using sanitary towels and all that stuff you get from a pharmacy (ie advertised by doctors as the way to go) etc without me clicking on scary links in a male household. :(
haha imagine it spilt and you had to clean up period juice, yum.
I swear I read somewhere on RYL about someone who washed theirs in the dishwasher or boiled them in a saucepan used for boiling milk, they really really make me cringe. I have to agree with the majority of the people here, the world doesnt mean enough to me to have to stand and wash vagina blood out of a funnel. also, what do you do for the time you're washing it? in the 5 minutes it would take I can tell you Id be a bit of a mess if I wasnt using any sort of sanitary thing. Always ftw (y) I dont even really like tampons tbh. Im scared it'll swing out and i'll get blood all over me or something.
It really is disgusting...You cant honestly say that part of you didnt curl up and die when you originally heard of this...Rank.
For reals, it's not gross, you clean it after every use and it lasts for years, it's not only good for the environment but it's cheaper than tampons, as well. you do have to be pretty comfortable with your lotus patch to use it but I think most women are comfortable there.

They are quite expensive and throwing them away is really bad for the environment. The mooncup is really comfy, you don't fele it at all, it sits quite low in your vagina, it won't get stuck, although I realise someone posted here that their friend got it stuck, but I don't see how that could happen. (Think about it, it's made of soft silicone, how and where could it get stuck?)
I'll ram info about the mooncup down everyone's throats till you all use one, I love it,.

Reason: Edited a comment that was a lil harsh.
"Hi, this is the operator, how can I help you?"
"I accidentallyd the mooncup!"
...
Fi, that's all well and good, but... isn't menstrual blood like, meant to come out of the body? Whole point of period, etc.?
What?
There do you think it goes if it's trapped in a tampon? tampons are gross, they cause bacterial infections and TSS, mooncups have no connection to anything, they are so clean.
What happens is, you fold it over, place it inside you, makesure there is a seal around the cup so there's no leaking then go about your business, a few hours later you pull it out, empty it down the loo, wipe it a bit (Or if you're near a tap, rinse it out, but I always take a bottle of water around with me in case I'm caught in a public toilet) then place it back in. Sorted. It does take a few times to get used to it but by the end of your first period with it you'll be a pro. they're available in Boots, go get one :P
So you're accusing Kelpie of lying about her experience of mooncups? Bit unfair, don't you think?
How could it get stuck?! Like seriously, I'm fully ready to be proven wrong but I just can't think how anything smooth and silicone could get stuck up a vagina!
