Because unless they have specifically organised one I highly doubt there will be one.
Certainly as uni students I don't think they would use the word "disco". There might be parties, with music, or students might go out clubbing.
The most usual form of socialising at uni would be at the uni bar, or pub, and would not involve dancing. It might involve drinking, but you needn't have alcohol unless you choose to, and it would involve chatting to other people.
I don't think you need to worry in advance about how to behave, just be relaxed and see what other people are doing, and only join in with anything you feel absolutely comfortable with.
But I still suspect that in only 3 days that you'll be there it may not be as exciting as you imagine!
No I've got an itinerary and it specifically says disco on the Saturday night
I'm with the ou and I think they may be trying to accommodate all age groups as I was shocked at the use of discos but considering I'm often the youngest by about ten years at my tutorials this may be the case but this is national so I'm hoping to find people more my own age. I'm not expecting it to be exciting I'm more than dreading it. I just thought I'd come here see what people's experiences of the night life are like
I'm hoping when it comes t chatting ill meet some people at the lectures and get talking a bit so I'm not thrown in the depend at whatever they mean by disco lol I keep imagining strobe lighting and smoke and lots of people in a close proximity this scares me more than anything and will leave if it gets this way but I'm hoping it will just be a bar with a dance floor. Thanks for the reply.
