You are doing brilliantly, I recognise how much you're fighting. I hope things start to ease soon as you deserve to achieve more and more months free.

Sounds great, well done :) Structure can be really helpful for mental health, particularly with the way things are in the world at the moment.

Yeah, I miss the bracelets, they were good! Maybe you could make yourself some kind of chart to record your progress?

In terms of fighting urges- you could try directly challenging them- trying to work out what problem/feeling is causing the urges and working out other ways to tackle them. Alternatively you could try distracting- anything you enjoy doing, preferably something that would also keep your hands busy such as drawing or craft. When it's particularly intense, I've found it helpful in the past to call a helpline such as the Samaritans to give me space to talk through my urges. I especially found it useful to have someone on the end of the phone whilst I cleared away the self harm method that was available to help resist the temptation until it was out of sight. (Sorry that's a bit vague to avoid sharing a method!)

I hope you find something that helps you :)

Thanks so much for replying. I might see if theres any self harm awareness bracelet bands around online. Im not having an urge right now but am very anxious tried to distract by watching telly but the storyline was about carona too from tonight onwards so that spoilt it for me

Will bear those techniques in mind next time I get distressed thankyou

11 Months is fab! Well done you. I think its natural for the SH addiction to start rearing its ugly head more close to milestones because it's like part of your brain knows the addiction is getting its arse whipped. So pleased for you. Keep at it :)

You could try to make your own? See the info in this thread. The link in my post no longer works but these beads look about right.

I never had much luck with making my own as the elastic always snapped or I couldn't get it the right size so I hope you'll get on better if you do give it a go!
