Hello,

I'm not too sure where to post this; apologies if it's the wrong place.

I've finally been referred to a pain management team at University College London due to an on-going, chronic health condition which causes constant pain.

My GP faxed over the referral on Friday. If anyone has been treated at a pain clinic, please could you tell me what it's like? I'm quite apprehensive!

Glad you finally got the referral. Hopefully it will help. I have never been to a pain clinic but hopefully they will help teach you ways to control your pain and make your life a bit more easier xxx

I've not been myself but known someone who has gone. From what she said it wS basically something to help her deal with the pain on a day to day basis.

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I have a pain management consultant, he sees me every three to six months and more often if needed. He manages my pain medication and refers me to other places, for example physio and psychology for pain. They're a lot better at prescribing meds than a GP as they're a lot more experienced in this area. Hope you find the help you need x
