Sometimes when I'm trying to reply to a post it says:

Cpt_Stunning, you do not have permission to access this part of RYL. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

You are not logged in, or you have just registered and have not yet activated your account. To do that, Click Here. To edit the email address this activation email is sent to Click Here

When the answer is neither! I've noticed members post & get no replies, when maybe people are trying to reply.

I think therefore I ambient.

How odd. Can you give an example of a thread you are trying to reply to?

Ah, the ranting/venting board doesn't allow replies! It's a board that lets people create a journal-like thread that is only for them to post in. However, if you see a thread there that looks like the poster is expecting replies, feel free to post report it and we can then send them a message to check that they know they can't get replies in the ranting/venting forum and offer to move it to a support forum if they wish.

Hope that make sense!

Yes!!! It took me forever to realise that I could not reply there!!!
One of the RYL enigmas (How do they do that?)

I quickly looked at the post. While you can offer a "hug"- or click on the persons name to see if they posted a thread you can comment on, in this specific case, I don't know how appropriate it is to start either a "Support for" thread or pm the individual directly.

Sometimes reaching out without any expectations lets persons know that you are with them- listening and hope that they can at least acknowledge someone else thinks things are going to be ok/ get better.

it’s not working for polar bears

Fwiw, I think it would be inappropriate to start a 'support for' thread without the person's consent. I do occasionally send PMs to people about their rant threads but I try to be careful as whilst some people may appreciate knowing that someone has read and cares and take up the opportunity to talk, other people post in a rant thread because they just want to vent and really don't want any responses.

Jenna's already covered the fact you can't reply to R/V threads, but I also wanted to add - this sometimes happens to me on threads I should be able to access/reply to, and I find that refreshing can fix it.
