Those are made of acrylic. Tapers really shouldnt be worn as jewellery due to the material and the size of them,BAF have plugs quite cheap or there are these https://www.bodyartforms.com/product...ProductID=1639 which are good but i personally found the plugs a little short for my lobes.

Oh another thing I'd like to add - what they don't tell you when you get your nipple pierced is that your nipple will grow considerably larger. I wish I'd listened to my mum now! I've removed my nipple piercing and now I'm gonna need cosmetic surgery as they just look stupidly uneven :(

they're acrylic, said so at teh top of hte page (well, near the top)
and as it says above, acrylic shouldn't be used for fresh stretches

I haven't noticed that problem with mine, although my nipple was pierced for less than a year -/ and I did get my small side pierced, so that might explain why I havent noticed a huge difference

Jane - that makes sense -) I wasn't sure about acrylic tapers.

I plan to stretch my ears up to 8G (3.2 mm) at some point, not sure when though -/ and I don't wanna go any bigger than that either, Andrew might kill me and I tihnk my mum might aswell!!

has anyone had tongue vemons pierced? I already have the center of my tongue pierced, and want something else done there aswell. Not sure if I want another center tongue or venoms, I think I might ask my piercer what would work better for my tongue -)

Belly Button Piercing

Hi

Had my belly button pierced last week. I've been bathing it with salt solution and has been a little gacky but not too bad now. However, it is now crazy itchy. Is there anything I can do to stop the itching as I don't want to risk touching it in case of infection.

Also, I know navel piercings are notoriously bad for healing but how long do I have to leave it til I can change the bar - 6/8 weeks?

6/8 weeks it would have barely healed... 6 months to a year until you can change the bar as they can flare up easily.

there isnt much you can do for the itching as it is normal as it is healing. If you are using too much salt this can also irratate your piercing

You could be alergic to the O rings, its is very common.

what material are you using as jewellery?

I never thought about being alergic to them....thats probably the cause.
I'm using steel because i thought it'd be more "safe" than acrylic.
Is there anything else i could use that won't irritate?

Is it black o rings you use? you may be okay with clear ones if you havent tried them.the black ones are often cheaper and are made of nitrile.

I personally use kaos(silicone) double flared tunnels and have found them to be very good to my ears as i found o rings a bit of an irratant for my ears.

also try some titanium which may help your ears as it doesnt have nickel in it.

I don't think anyone can really tell you that...everyone has different pain thresholds (sp?)

I think thats an okay price.
I wouldnt go by price though....i got mine done about 5 years ago, i was way under age but i decided to go to a piercer who was known for doing under age piercings and did them cheaply...BIG mistake! It got infected and ripped out shortly after.
So spend time looking for a good piercer!

Heya. Thanks for posting such a useful thread. After having read the stuff about piercing rejection, I'm a bit worried that my navel piercing is being rejected. I got it done almost two years ago and for a while it was fine but I've always had lovely crustiness which nothing has changed. I just thought it was taking ages to heal but now it seems to be...er...shrinking, that's the only way I can put it. I got it done with a 14mm titanium bar that is now WAY too big, even a 12mm bar is a little roomy. However there's no pain whatsoever. Do you think it's being rejected?
Thanks, Laura x

If it is pierced with a 14mm length bar and is a bit roomy at 12mm, has this been since the swelling has gone down.It may migrate to a more compfrtable position but if it looks like it is growing out a lot- more than a few mm then it is likely that it is rejecting in my opinion
