Image hosting
Technical question - what do people use for image hosting nowadays?
I'm so out of touch with the internet... and occasionally would like to post some photos on here.
Tried logging in to my old Photobucket account the other day (amazing I could even remember the username and password) but it was so awful and full of adverts I couldn't actually access any of my old pics. Really living up to its old nickname of Photof***et...

I don't use image hosting sites much, really just to post here. Use imgbb.com.
|
I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Photobucket stopped doing 3rd party image hosting a few months ago unless you want to pay $400 a year. I use imgbb as you can put the album to private if you want.

I also have an account with surf my pictures but not used it much. There's Flickr which has it's disadvantages because I have never been able to share pictures on my mobile as it's only good for sharing if you have a laptop. This is despite there being a mobile app which is an advantage but again I have never been able to share pictures on it.

I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside. I tried groups, didn't work out just made my depression a lot worse.

I use Imgur.com and if that fails as sometimes the traffic is too heavy, I use tinypic.com.

I have managed to get Flickr to share on my mobile. Turns out you need to set the webpage as "request desktop site" to do it. The disadvantage with Flickr is that it reveals your full name when sharing which is not something most people are happy with on this site. So if you are using Flickr you need to be aware of this or sign up using a false name. Personally I don't recommend Flickr.

Yeah there aren't so many fantastic places for copyright-free images. I sometimes require them for projects or whatever, but usually go to a site like pexels.com tbh.

Oooh there are some really pretty pictures on that site. Thanks for that! With regards to other sites where you can find copyright-free pics, there are a few mentioned here in case Pexels doesn't have what you're looking for. Stuff like Flickr or Shutterstock would both be good imo.
