Question

I have a question.
If i went to a and e due to sh and turns out i need treatment if i decided i didnt want treatment and walked out before results came back saying that i needed treatment. Could they get the police to bring me back. If so what grounds.

I havent done anything and have no intention of doing the above.

Depends if they deem you to have capacity or not
I've been on psych wards needing sh treatment, under section, and they haven't been able to force me to go due to having capacity.

To be honest Beckie - I think that depends on severity and if the dr can be bothered and if they are that worried. If you done something to harm yourself and on section then actually they can force treatment. Weirdly know this now as I had to secure ambulance as this happened on the ward I work on and I was nurse in charge :/

Hi Lauren,

This also depends on what you’ve done and if they think you are risk to yourself further. To play it safe I think they would call. But why would you go a&e in the first place but then leave before you get the treatment. It would waste your time and their time?
