Should I?

I was thinking of starting a diary, to kind of get in touch with my feelings, to sort of maybe be able to vent or write about my problems, so I feel I don't have to cut.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Wow - that is sa great step.

I often find that putting the energy into writting things down sometimes helps to make more sense of things.

Also - perhaps a to-do list in the back of it? You know when you have all those things going on in your head and you don't knwo what to do with yourself.... making a list and working through the list is often a great feeling.

Those are my thoughts on it though =)

It does sound like a really good idea but please be careful, sometimes writing things down can make you feel them so much more. It might be a good idea to make sure that you have a back up plan incase you still feel bad afterwards. Good luck, we are all here for you. Please get in touch any time. Take care. xxx

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Hey good for you, trying something new!

A good tip is to keep a happy book/diary. I know there is often the need to write out the unhappy stuff to empty your mind and that is good to. But it is really therapeutic to keep a book of all the positive memories - the times that you have had a victory no matter how small. Or maybe something that made you laugh out loud. you could make it into a scrapbook with some pics and stuff.

It sounds a bit naff maybe (??), but writing out the happy stuff will always make you smile and surely thats a good thing?!

Good luck!

I think you will find it helps you so much. Im not very good at expressing my feelings. It's like I am in constant denial of how I feel. When I write though, it helps me get them out in a healthy way. Having a diary will allow you to express yourself. You can get it all out on paper, the good and the bad, and close the book when you are done and just walk away. I think it's a great idea and you should be really proud of yourself!
