Meeeee!
I LOVE ii. More for nostalgia than anything else. I used to stay with my gran and grandad over the summer and we'd always get the coach up. If we didn't go I'd stay up with my cousins and watch it.
One of the perks of being Scottish!

Does anyone in your family play?
The most pipes I ever saw in person (there are a lot at the St Pat's parade in New York but I would never go to that) was at an Irish Festival last summer. They weren't in very good shape though!

My great uncle does, actually!
Maybe I should take it up as a hobby!

My mam always wanted to go to that. We said we'd go this year but of course when the tickets went on sale she said she didn't know if she could go..

I went with brownies when I was younger. I enjoyed it.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

Tony.
Yes I heard it can be very cold and wet - even in summer. Everyone I have run across who has been to the ET has spoken highly of it. This year I know one group is:
" The Exemplary Wind Symphony Orchestra at the General Military Staff of Mongolia in cooperation with the Military Song and Dance Academic Ensemble"

I went a few years ago - apart from being booed for being English it was fun. Incredible spectacle, it's a really good atmosphere - even with the rain! - but inevitably incredibly tourist-y, particularly as it overlaps with the Edinburgh Fringe. Very fun though. You should pop over to the UK sometime and go!

How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
