wedding photography

ok so someone i know has just looked at my photography website has just offered me the role of their wedding photographer in june next year.

now see i dont know whether to say yes because i havent done a wedding before and i dont want to ruin her day by messing it up for her by taking bad photos.

but we do have a family friend who does weddings and i could ask him to take me along to wedding to give me pointers.

so in summary do i say yes and just make sure i have got some pointers and experience, or do i say no and sorry but dont have to worry about messing her wedding up.

x

The experiance would be good for you, make sure they are aware it would be your first wedding.
But going with the family friend to give you pointers sounds excellent.

Sometimes you just need to put faith in yourself & you can do brilliantly.

I agree with The Hierophant.
You won't get experience unless you go for it :)
Just make sure you let them know - they obviously like what you can do.

I think you should say yes if the family friend can come along to help you out. If it's your first wedding then I agree that it will be good experience, but you'll also need tips & pointers from someone who's done it before so if you want to, you can do it by yourself if you get another offer.

Just don't do what I did & say yes when you have no clue what your doing >_<.

EDIT: The wedding is in June next year so you'll have plenty of time to practice before then anyway, so I'm sure you'll do fine.

Hey,
I would say yes personally. I mean you've got to start somewhere haven't you? So I think it would be a really good experience for you. :] And it's good you have someone who could you ask for pointers as well. :) I'm sure it would be fine if you said yes. I mean they wouldn't ask you if they thought you were going to take bad photos. Take care, hope it goes well! xx

Hello

I suggest you to say yes because you are belong to that field so it gives you lots of experience which nobody can give you ever and going with your friend which also belongs to your profession.

I think you have a great idea about tagging on with a photographer friend to get some tips..... after all, everyone starts somewhere and every wedding photographer has a "first time". Sounds like you would do all you could to make it good for them and a helpful experience for you.

Go for it..... just let them know that you are nervous and why, and that you'll be looking for experiences that will help in the interim.
