Wound Care Question - Burn

I have a burn on my lower back. It's only causing me a minor amount of pain and it isn't infected. However the skin is dry and cracked with some dead skin actually on the wound.

However I am very inexperienced when it comes to treating burns. I am not sure if I should be putting antiseptic cream or moisturiser on the burn. Can anyone advise what is best?

Anyone? The pain I have is due to bending an cracked and dry area. I would really like to alievate this. Sadly avoiding bending is not an option as this is happening on a normal day to day basis.

I don't know much about treating burns sorry but didn't want to leave this without a reply.

On the NHS page on Burns it suggests not using any creams on the area whilst they heal.

It might be worth popping along to a local pharmacy and seeing if they could have a look and recommend any otc care or alternatively whether they think it needs looking at by a nurse or doctor.

Thanks tiptoes. It also says on that page to seek medical advice if it's been there for two weeks. It hasn't been there that long so if it doesn't heal that quick I will seek medical advice. It's hard to see because of its location but I feel as though it's healing slowly judging by the pain levels.

If you struggle to see it could you take a photo of it (for yourself not to post)? It might also help you monitor whether it is improving or getting worse.
