So apparently I have a personality disorder...
...my care co-ordinator blurted this out tonight assuming someone else might have mentioned it.
They hadn't.
So, people of RYL - anyone want to enlighten me as to what a personality disorder could be? I'm aware of BPD but haven't come in to contact with anyone who could be described as having the same problems I do.
Can anyone offer some guidance/information please?

This very much depends on what type of personality disorder you have (there are many and they can be quite different). You may have to speak to your doctor/cpn to find out what PD you have then maybe people could answer your post more easily.

well-adjusted adult
gets up at 7.30am feeling just plain terrible.

That's a good point, although as you probably know they're quite reluctant to talk about diagnoses and have just stated that my problem comes from a personality disorder.
Is BPD very different to all others or is there a 'cluster' around that that are similar? I really have no idea about this!

All personality disorders are different, you really need to find out which one she thinks you have and take it from there. :)

Yeah I think you need to pin them down as there are lots of personality disorders and each person with a personality disorder will have different symptoms.
Mental health teams are getting much better at dealing with them so a diagnosis need not be the end of the world! Good luck!
