Reason: mispelled word
from someone who doesnt post much, but lurks alot I have noticed how slow vets is moving.....both in general and support.
Maybe its the time of year, maybe its because people are moving on or maybe its that people are generally going through a bad time....either way Im sure it will rectify itself in time xx
I lost my faith in this place awhile back, due to quite a bit of dishonesty and betrayal being swung my way, but life goes on. I'm sure it's a completely different situation for you. Even if the vet corner were to fade away, remember you will still have the people. You don't have to rely on RYL to communicate with your friends. Life goes on.
It must be difficult if you're been on RYL a while, with people coming and going to feel like making new friends. But those of us who are new are just settling in... it can be difficult to join in a conversation between people who've known each other a while (or seem to), so give us time...
i've actually recently refound vets again. i got tied up in a lot of stuff and the boards just dissapeared for a while (no real reason just me stuff) but now i'm beginning to spend more time in this corner of the RYL world and i realise why i love it so much.
I havent noticed a dip so much because i havent been around as much but i do hope the dip is only temporary.
Of course its changed - I mean I've been a member for the best part of what...7 years, who hasn't changed in that time? people come & go & stay & leave....but its not dead & I don't think it ever will be.
But on the dead/quiet front - Its christmas folks, while the world of our 'teenage' friends starts to slow (school, college finishing - the teachers being to hung over to teach anything ) they possibly get more time to sit on t'internet but people of an 'older' ilk(?) start to get busier - turkey stuffing, present buying, children looking after, carol singing, mince pie making etc etc....

Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice-cream drips
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for God's sake. You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway.
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes
Buy Smash and keep it in the cupboard for up to a year.
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking tin, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
Tescos' sell cakes. They even do decorated versions.
If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a potato slice.
If you over salt a dish while you are cooking, that's tough *****. Please recite with me the Real Woman's motto: 'I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes.'
Wrap celery in aluminium foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks
It could keep forever - who eats that stuff?
If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
Why do I have a man?
Freeze leftover wine into ice cubes for future use in casseroles
left over wine...Helllloooo?

I am spending most of my time in Chat. I don't seem to have any ability to support people or offer anything remotely helpful here in vets.
My husband is my best friend.
In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.
^^^^^ I think you do Blondie, you always seem to know what to say.
As for being dead, I agree with the time of year.
I'm one of those people who aren't here every day anyway, some times I'm not here for two weeks at a time, so miss quite a bit. And I guess it doesn't help that I'm sooooooooooooo knackered at the moment. Sigh!

Sorry, not a great contributor at the moment. Has been a tough few months and I suppose I am a bit "me, me, me". I'm sorry but I do try to reply to posts when I feel able. It is difficult for us newer members though as sometimes I feel I don't belong.
