Contains sexual abuse - Suffering abuse and not being believed

I recently uncovered memories of sexual abuse from my grandfather on my mother's side. He died earlier this year and I only uncovered these memories a month or so ago when I had a flashback while I was trying go shopping and saw a man that looked like him.
I told my mother and my father and neither of them believed me. I feel like I will never get closure now and any time I talk about it I get really upset. I have friends I have been talking to but I can't say it has helped much besides making it easier to talk about it.

I'm so sorry your mum and dad didn't believe you, that must be incredibly hard. I'm glad you've been able to talk to your friends though. Do you have any professional support? It was only recently you recovered these memories, make sure you give yourself time to feel everything you need to, no-one is going to expect you to just get over it.

I have a therapist but I might not be able to see her anymore because my new insurance only covers therapists with a certain special license. ( That is how it has been explained to me.) I also feel like I will never be able to get closure now.
