Positive Post - Autism Spectrum Disorders Thread

We needed an autism board. Here is one. I'm having a great day, no sensory overload, and my stimtastic necklace and tangle jrs came in the mail!! I'm on a road trip which makes me anxious but I'm listening to my favorite sensory music and not looking out the windows, with my arm out the window, which is how I stim in the car. Also chewing my necklace and playing on my iPad. How are all my fellow aspies/autistics doing today??

I have classic autism. I am struggling badly.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

I read your post, have you found any help here? Maybe I could find online resources for you, I'm quite good at that.

I do find help here. I sometimes worry I'm being annoying though.

Online resources would be good.

I am supposed to get a support worker from the NAS at home (I have a full time one at uni) but they're being slow. My old support worker left.

Ok I'm on a road trip back home now but when I get home I'll get out my laptop or get on my iPad and see what I can find for you. And me. I have a lot of meltdowns too.

I think these articles are great. Thank you.

I try to see my autism in a slightly positive light...I am an autistic savant.

I do too, I recognize mostly the highs and deal with the lows as they come along. My meltdowns can get pretty bad too, but it depends on the situation. Maybe I should look more into coping skills and such.

I spin, flap my hands and I rarely stop moving as my stims. However I also have challenging and self injurious behaviour, especially when stressed.
