Book Recommendations Anyone?
So, I am suffering serious Game of Thrones withdrawal.
I am so very sad that there's still some 2 years before the expected release of the next book and I'm struggling to find things to read in the meantime.
So anyone have some fantasy books/series that you'd recommend? Quite long would be a plus, something I could sink my teeth into for a couple of days/weeks?
Thankies!

I'm going to assume you've read lord of the rings? If not, do!!
I'm not a big fantasy reader although I have been reading the game of thrones series and enjoying them more than I expected.
Hunger games are the other obvious choice although they are really short and easy to read so won't take long.

If you can get a hold of anything by William Horwood, they're really good.

Thank you both for the replies!
I haven't actually read LOTR, I tried The Hobbit when I was about 10 but found he was far too descriptive for my taste, I should try them again now I (hopefully) have a longer attention span!
Sadly, I've read all the Hunger Games books but thank you for the recommendation.
And thank you Stellata, I shall get on Amazon and search for his books :)

Yes, LOTR does go overboard on the description a bit, the hobbit much less so though so maybe start with that again.
The chrysalids is a very interesting book too, but probably more sci-fi than fantasy.

If it's long you're looking for try Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. It may take you your whole life to read :P

Well if you like Vampire type fantasy I have a few series which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and had me hooked for weeks!;
The Morganville Vampires - Rachel Caine
The house of Night - P.C. and Kristen Cast
The Vampire Diaries - L.J. Smith (L.J. Smith has written quite a few series which are very good and so check her out c: )
The true blood's (Sookie Stackhouse) - Charliene Harris
The blue bloods - Mellissa de la Cruz
The last vampire - Christopher Pike
Another few series I would recommend (non-vampire):
The Demonata Saga - Darren Shan (I even re-read this series, and I never reread books so y'know. They're absolutely amazing.)
The Darren Shan Saga - Darren Shan
A great and Terrible Beauty, The sweet Far Thing, & Rebel Angels (all one series) - Libba Bray
Septimus Heap Series - Angie Sage (I remember reading these 2 years or so ago, that was a very good series too!)
The Spook's Apprentice - Joseph Delany (Again I must've read these 2 years or so ago. Very good though.)
Newes from the dead - Mary Hooper (This is a single read, though absolutely fantastic if you love books set pre-21st century)
All these books are utterly fantastic and I strongly recommend them ^_^ ENJOY!

Have you tried 'The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel' series? They're a series of six books, the sixth one released recently.
I would recommend Harry Potter if it wasn't for the fact that its the most obvious choice and you must've read it already.

I had this exact same problem when I finished reading Game of Thrones!
Currently I am reading Metro 2033 which is really good.
