Say, Big Brother, or a similar competition.
If you were offered to go on such a show, where you would be watched 24 hours a day by the public and surrounded by shallow fame-hungry no-intellect people.
would you do it, or would you say no?
Personally I'd say no. no opportunity to appear on TV would be worth spending time with something the equivalent of the cast of The Only Way Is Essex

When I used to watch them, I'd think "Im far more entertaining than these people", but then, I thought "My Nan would discover I'm slightly odd, I enjoy the golden girl crown, I won't bother going on these shows".
Also, the other people would irritate me too much.

There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
I'd go on biggest loser, but thats it, trashy BB is not my thing, I'd be somewhat embarressed to willingly associate myself with many of the people who've been on there.
In a way i found that being on a mental health ward was i suspect something like big brother , people watching you cameras and sometimes alarms went off , i never won a prize though and im glad i wasnt the last one left in there. Even though i did find it noisy so i might have found it easier with it being quiet.
I really don't think I would. I hate it when my daughter or partner sits and watches me eat so hate to think what I'd be like with loads of people watching me eat/doing every day things.
I don't think I could!! But I know a few people who have been on them!!

If they ever did im a celebrity for normal people, id totally do that. but others probally not
I'm an ordinary person, get me out of here.

I would love to take part in something like Big Brother just so I could do lots of crazy challenges and make people laugh - such a daredevil at heart :D
I do think I'd have a mental break down though, what with all the pressure. So you know, swings and roundabouts.. :/
Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world awaits in darkness for the light that is you.
I think the problem with reality shows it that they are NOT real life. The producers have their own agenda so you might think certain aspects of your life should or should not be shown- but find public perception is coloured by what is actually televised. For persons who want treatment that they could not otherwise afford- remember it is about game playing and ratings- hardly conducive to a true therapeutic relationship.
For example persons who got voted off the first week of Biggest Loser- medically I thought that was crap- however, for many people it was enough of a kick in the pants and motivator to stay on point until the finals- albeit at home. A lot of the time it is about accountability- and if you cannot deal with random strangers/ acquaintances making comments about your lifestyle choices then it probably isn't for you. At the same time- if you like being manipulative- it is probably perfect.
If I was ever trying to be a role model I would finish filming, supervise editing and then let it be broadcast.....in reality, reality TV isn't what it seems.....you have to really put your foot down from the beginning for creative control. Just my opinion.

it’s not working for polar bears.” Arianna Huffington 2014
I'd never go on anything like Big Brother, I don't like to be the centre of attention and knowing people could see me all the time would make me paranoid
I hate shows like Big Brother, Get Me Out Of Here etc etc.
But saying that, I would give it a go on Big Brother but i think it would drive me insane, I like to be active, keep my hands busy and all that and it seems like they don't do much in the house.
Would be fun to go in there to troll people though.
