Cold Turkey

I read that self harm can be addictive and that it actually may progress to more serious injury as the need to retain the same feeling of relief.. with this on mind im going to see if I can go "Cold Turkey"

This is going to be tough as my self harm is not planned, rather triggered and i often have little or no time to stop it happening after a trigger ever..I punch my head repeatedly.

I'm going to attempt to go until 9am tomorrowwithout self harming again .. 24 hours.. thats my first goal..

Good luck, please take care of yourself. If you need to talk at all feel free to post here if it helps. It would probably be useful for you to look at your triggers and what is behind your self harming so you could find other ways to deal with things. I understand some forms of self harm being almost automatic, I find that trying to notice when I start doing automatic self harm and then telling myself that I need to stop can be helpful. How are you going to occupy yourself today?

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.

Don't try to calm the storm, calm yourself, the storm will pass.

You didn't come this far just to come this far.

Hey, good luck with this. Would it help to talk about the things that tend to trigger your self harm and maybe we could come up with alternate ways to manage those moments?

I hope today has gone OK.

No other sadness in the world would do
