Depends if the network is encoded...if it is then you cannot connect to the network without the net key password....

Must warn you though....connecting to someone elses network over an unsecure connection can cause virus's and trojans to get into your system and kill it

Me thinks its just easier and safer to pester parent/guardian/richest member of household to get a wireless network in your house

Complain then

We as human beings have the right to complain...and gosh do we do it well :P

Fight your case with honesty and putting across the plus side to having such a network

Much safer than getting all your worked rubbed off....or even having someone steal bank details etc

Some public libraries have a wireless network you can access for free. At least they do around here. :)

I always thought though that to access the 'free' wireless in what they call 'hotspots' say in Starbucks... *yay I had to say that* you need a wireless card you can get from say the 'three' mobile network from £20 per month.

well it depend on the network you are picking up.. It might be a N type wireless signal and if you laptop is only b/g type then it wont ever be able to connect to it... unless you buy an adaptor. Also as other have said it might be encoded... I know this because I have a laptop which wont connect to our home wireless network for the above reason which sucks cos like the adaptor will cost about 50-90 pound

I WILL FORGET THOSE THAT HAVE HURT ME

Do you work?
If so perhaps look at getting mobile internet? There only fairly cheap and you just push a card into the end on your laptop. Unfortuntley there all contract at present, but it might be worth looking at if you can afford it. 3 and T mobile i think where the scheapest last time i looked.

Eva. Gone, but never forgotten 27.3.10

I'll think about that! At the moment i can only access internet at college or the libray which is a b*tch cos when i post threads that are quite pressing, i have to wait a couple of days before i can check them.

When we moved i got on to my neighbours network. You really shouldn't have your childs name as a password! Its too easy to work-out! I couldn't get a strong enough signal though. I was so tempted to go sit outside her house with my laptop!
