Yes.
Hate on my calf.
I think it's, more releasing then just cutting?
When I did mine, it felt like, instead of just the pain, it was all the hate too.

I carved an F on my leg. It's upside down, but it's still really hard to hide. Also hard to write off as nothing.
Luckily, like the rest of my scars, it has faded and is less noticable. I recommend using lotion to help heal the scars and make them smooth. Good luck.

"In- in return?" Snape gaped at Dumbledore, and Harry expected him to protest, but after a long moment he said, "Anything."

I must become a lion-hearted girl, ready for a fight.

I've carved many words on my arms and stomach and legs. Most of mine are still visible even after like 5 years. And I tan really easily, which makes the words stick out even more. But I carved 'My Fault' on my arm many years ago and most people don't see it because there not actually looking for it.

Yeah, i've got the number 13 on my ankle. It was about a year ago, it's still very noticeable. All the self-harmers I know (in 'real' life) have words somewhere, I guess it's pretty common...

Yeah, I currently have a D on my wrist. It's been there for about a year and is slowly starting to fade. So yes they will fade eventually. Try using bio-oil, it should help reduce the scarring =) x

i (not intelligently) tend to cut words/designs on my knee/thigh that won't heal/fade with time.
i have two stars and a heart that have (thankfully) healed.
but i have 'I HATE ME' on my left and 'Hate Me' on my right thigh, with 'bitch' on my left knee in large letters.
i doubt these will fade. haha, genius right?

I did this when I first started self-harming, too. As many of the posters about me have already suggested, I think that it might be pretty common.
I really wish that I hadn't done this though. Many years later and I still have a few very faint scars that are obviously not caused by falling into a pricker bush or being attacked by my cat.

I have the word 'LOVE' carved into my knee, and 'YOU R PERFECT' on my wrist next to my cuts. I did Love deep enought to leave scratches though. I reccomend not doing this, because If you go to school/work your friends will most probably find out, if they are visible enough.
