I heard about the theory Caru y Nos mentioned and even though it sounds very reasonable in my opinion I'd still be too scared to try it.
I woke up the other night and there was a woman at my bed staring at me. Now there's probably loads of logical explanations to it, but I can't help it - it scares the **** out of me, so I'd rather stay away from challenging ghosts or whatever it is.
Hmm, well when I thought there was a demon in the house a few weeks ago (I was unwell) my response was to run around with various things including a frying pan, (took a note out of Samwise Gamgee's book). I'm not sure if it worked or not. But my Mum was rather bemused to find me and the frying pan comforting each other.
So if I ever get into the sort of situation where someone pays me £1000000000000 I know I'll be getting my frying pan out again.
No, i get my pessimism from Economics with my perception from Psychology... if anything it was economics been quoted and combined with psychology in an abstract way :-P:

I've done a few, usually drunk xD They are fun but they don't work (in my opinion.) Though I did have summat happen one time that was very weird but hey ho :D
See I cannot feel this, not matter how you try and in the real world, there's no goodbyes.
