Triggering (SI) - Help me get white scars...?
Ok i have lots of red scars on my arm (had them for about 4 months).
My older and shallower cuts are now white raised lines, but the red ones stick out so much they can be seen a long awy off.
Out of these scars that are red some of them have raides and look like they will go white with time, others are still flat and really red.
I picked my scabs alot during the healing process, does this mean that the scars will remain reddish instead of turnign into they nice white lines that you can hardly see?
any ways i can get them to go from red to white?
these mush sound like dump questions:P

Sorry to disapoint you, but they only fade with time. You can use above things to cover up or soften them but unfortunatelly it takes many months sometimes years to have a scar fade.
Although I would discourage sunlight because the scar tissue is free from melanonin(cells that make your skin have colour) thus isn't able to protect your body from such things as skin cancer. This also means that as the surounding skin tans the white/red scars will stand out more against the taned skin.

massage actually helps scars fade! If you take a little bit of vitamin E or and rub it over the scar, and massage the scar every day, it will go away faster than if you are to just leave it alone. Olive Oil helps too- generally I use o oil, and I had some nasty narly scars, that are now completely white.
Hope that helps.

In my experience there is not much you can do but wait for time to fade them. I have found bio oil useful, or infact rubbing anything into/around them. It is the act of massaging the area that helps most I think, it increases blood flow to area which encourages/speeds up healing. It will still take time though. Sorry I can't be of more help.

but as others have said bio oil is good, though expensive
and sunlight - but use suncream, scars are more susceptable to sunburn.
good luck

i have the same problem with a big fat red scar on my arm. It cut there really deep.
can't really add anything beyond what the others have said. But i can't sing the praises of Bio-oil enough. really helping my scars to fade.

I have acne scars as well as arm scars. My dr. said to NOT let them get sun or they won't fade...I'm assuming this would be the same for any scar.
