Would hard candies be an option? That way you could get some energy and not have to eat directly.

Can you not see that by not eating and drinking you are making yourself sicker? From what you’ve said on your RV, your body is starting to show signs that it isn’t coping with being denied food and drink.

I know it is easier said than done, but can you not think of anything that would be safe for you to eat or drink before you end up a lot worse than you are right now.

What if it doesn't? What if you are starving yourself and not the contamination? From the way you describe it the contamination is working in a similar way to a parasite you need nutrition for your body to fight the contamination. If it the contamination is a symptom of your illness you need nutrition to get the cognition to fight the thoughts and beliefs.

I just cant help thinking that food and drink will make it stronger
I have ward round tomorrow and im nervous.
This doctor is rather unpredictable and extreme

Thanks for the replies

I'm fine! Totally fine. I don't know why it's coming out all loud and squeaky, 'cause really, I'm fine!

If your body breaking down makes it weaker, how broken does your body need to be for it to be gone? And how far are you willing to go? Parasites normally find another host of their source host dies...

I don't have the answers.
Sounds stupid because this is happening to me but I really dont know how its meant to work.
I am willing to go as far as I need to

Had a very brief ward round as I felt dizzy again.
She just said increase clozapine, Amisulperide and levothyroxine and that my bloods weren't bad.
She said something about talking to a registrar but I don't know why.
Also been referred to dietician which is silly because i KNOW how to eat healthily and exercise and stuff. I just can't do it right now.

Jasmine is coming tomorrow.
I really hope I'll be ok for that.
I don't want her to see me faint or something.

Need to shower before tomorrow but they cant locate the shower chair and I really don't think I can stand up that long
Its so embarrassing

It might be due to length of time that you haven't been eating/drinking that the dietician has to get involved due to risk of refeeding, and this they want someone more specialized to help advise and keep an eye on you.

I hope things go okay with seeing your family.

Could be that

Thank you

Bit embarassing but I had diahrreoa earlier today.
There should literally be nothing in my stomach so a bit worried about it.

Things are getting scary.
The doctor is coming in this evening just to see me.
Ward manager came and told me what she said in an email.
Something about ECT.
I have a feeling I'm not going to have much of a choice.
She said even if I start eating and drinking again it won't make a difference to my treatment.
She said I don't have capacity and that I am unwell.
Which is bullshit.
I am very worried.
She said she'd also have to call my mum because I'm going to be put on a section 3.

Shits getting real

Generally, I think there should be a choice for ECT. I don't know what the rules are there, but if you don't want ECT and you are told you have to have it, you can ask, "Why am I being made to have ECT against my will?" At least that will make it clear for them if you don't want it.

Also, if you truly don't want ECT, you can ask your mom to get you a lawyer (don't know if you are allowed to call your mom).

Irisflower from what I understand if it's deemed an emergency then they can force ECT. As Beckie is sectioned they can also force any treatment on her as section 3 is a treatment section. The only time it gets potentially complicated is if there's a valid advance directive refusing ECT but I don't think Beckie has one (feel free to correct me here Beckie).

Thanks both

From what I understand, they can only force ECT if its an emergency/life threatening.
And if they want to force it then they have to ask other doctors.

I am allowed to call my mum.
I may look into getting a lawyer depending on the outcome of seeing the doctor today

In addition to what I said above there's certain criteria for emergency treatment if they don't think you have capacity such as getting a second opinion from another doctor. There is rules around being forced to have ECT but the point I was trying to make is that they can force it on someone if they think that they need it.

How do you feel about being placed on a section 3 Beckie?

I hope whatever happens it's the right thing for you.

Before you seemed to be receptive to ECT, maybe it would be worth considering just to see if it helps at all rather than fight against people if it comes to that.

Have you spoken to your Mum yet?

I know this might not help, but I've been put on the equivalent of a section here in the US before for not eating/drinking. It does fall under the criteria for lacking capacity and the ability to care for yourself. That's why they can also force nutrition and fluids without your consent when that occurs too.

I really hope you can talk to your mom and figure out if you need a lawyer or advocate. Thinking of you.

Thanks everyone

I've just met with a panel of people about putting me on a section 3.
It was very intimidating.
Yet to find out the results.
Apparently consultant will be seeing me tonight as well.
This is all getting very out of hand.
