Back in early 70s an Italian comedian saw Italian kids listening to a lot of songs in English despite not knowing what the songs were about. He made a satirical video by singing a song with English words and sounds that made no sense. He used Elvis Presley as a model. The video is often called "Prisencolinensinainciusol" (a nonsensical title) and its been around the web but one version actually has subtitles. I thought about and realised how many songs I've liked without having an idea of what they were about even with understanding English. Voltaire was correct.
