Positive recovery post - Only a few weeks but feels serious this time

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here. A little under a month ago, I made the decision that I want to stop cutting myself. It's been on and off for about 14 years and I know it's probably a battle I'll be dealing with for the rest of my life. I've tried to stop before, but this is the first time I know I truly want to. I figured that was a good enough reason to treat myself, and I work well with incentives! So I ordered this pendant, with the date I made the decision on the back, rather than the date I last cut because I felt that was more important.

Does anyone else have something like this? Has it helped?

I think you're really brave. Love the symbolism!
You can do this...:) Even if it's 2 steps forward, 1 step back...there's always a way!

Maybe I wasn't made for this world
All the space in between the soul and the seams
Maybe I wasn't made for this world

What a lovely thread to read and a beautiful pendant. Well done on making the decision to stop and I wish you all the best with it.

For what it's worth, I tried and failed to stop self harming many times and I think what made the difference the last time (and that's almost four and a half years ago now!) was that I was truly sick of it and properly wanted to stop, so I think truly wanting to stop is a very important step.

No other sadness in the world would do
