I was just watching 'my big gay prom' on TV (am feeling a bit rough so having a day off from study) it was quite sweet to see a bunch of teenagers put together the UK's first gay prom. It got me thinking, were you out in high school/6th form? I only told two of my friends before I left college (A-levels not uni) the others found out that summer when I was snogging a girl in a club(!)

My 2 bestest mates kinda knew at school despite my not saying anything about it, but they know now, and it's not hanged a thing. The only person I announced it to (if you will) is my mum, who again knew I was Bi, but was glad I'd told her as she wasn't sure if I was just experimenting or was for real!
It bugs me a bit that you are meant to do this big ''announcement'' if you are anything other than straight. I've know all my life I'm bi, and so why do I need to announce it to anyone?!?! It's like everyone is 'meant' to be stright and if you aren't to have to let people know!! Madness I tell thee.
But, it's a sunday and my boyfriend (who appreciates my liking girls may I add) and I are having such a lazy day I can't be bothered to be annoyed by it :)
As long as everyone is happy with who they are attracted to, there's'no problem!

yeah im having a girl......so we hve to organise the wedding whilr we have her to sort out aswell....im sure its gunna be fun lol.....traipsing round london for dress fittings and visiting flower shops.....its gunna be manic lol

i have no idea what this thread is at all. is it a special place for gays only? or what? What does LGBT stand for? What is episode of The L-Word/Queer as Folk.

LGBT stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender, I guess I started the thread so it would be somewhere we could discuss 'gay' issues, culture, etc or generally just hang out and be gay :)
I don't have authority over this thread or anything but personally I wouldn't want to exclude anyone from posting, gay or not, so long as they understand this is a thread relating to queer life, and just that everyone should be respectful and let people be who they are, straight, gay, bi, in, out anything. *shrug*
Oh and the L-word and Queer as Folk are TV shows about lesbian and gay people respectively.
Oh and in answer to Gothic Angel's question, the best relationship I ever had lasted 3 and half years, and ended about a year and half ago, it was really hard for a while, especially when I found out she was seeing this bloke she was good friends with while we were together (grr). But things are better now, I've had a gf since then and am getting on with life generally.
