Chipped tooth!!

I chipped one of my teeth yesterday - I bit my tonuge bar really hard whilst eating and now the corner of my tooth is really rough and sharp. I don't wanna go to the dentist though!! D'you reckon it'll smooth off by itself?

I'm such a muppet!

awwww........im sorry.
it will probably smooth off by itself after a while, but going to the dentist would be easier.
hope it settles down for you.
much love.

if you can live with how it looks then leave it - it'll smooth in time.
if not, or if your tooth starts to darken, get to a dentist asap.

It's not too bad actually - more annoying than anything because the chip is on the inside of the tooth, so I keep poking it with my tongue Can't resist!

I chipped my tooth when I was a youngster, someone smashed a swing in my face (accidently) Half my tooth was chipped so I had to go dentist.
If it becomes sensitive you'll need to go dentist because that means the nerve endings aren't protected and also, if it changes colour.
The dentist won't be to bad though hun and you probably should go anyways but it will smooth out on its own if you really don't want to go.

they may file it down and possibly put a bit of white filling stuff on it to make it the right shape.

can you buy acrylic coated bars where you are? they don't chip teeth so easily as tyhe scrylic is more 'bouncy' than metal it oyu accidentaly chew it. mand x

A chipped tooth can smooth down, but with the enamel chipped off, you leave yourself open to cavities.

Having a chipped tooth repaired takes very little time and is pain free - and this is coming from me, an A1 certified wussy and someone who HATES the dentist. They don't even need to freeze you unless the tooth is broken off close to the gum line, which doesn't seem to be the case for you - you'd be uber pain, lol. However, having a cavity filled sucks, is painful, and requires freezing. So, just head into the dentist and get it seen to. After they're done, you won't even be able to see where the tooth was chipped. Half of one of my front teeth was chipped off, and with the repair, you can't even tell. Good luck and take care!

Hello Ragdoll, don't worry Chipped tooth will get smoother with time but if you want to fix this problem faster go to dentist, it will take a little time to make your tooth smoother.
