Is it self harm?

I'm asthmatic, and have been given Beta Blockers to control my Anxious tremor and stutter, but was told it could cause chest pain, but to make this worse, I bought a pack of cigarettes, after not smoking in about 5 years, and have had chest pain from smoking while taking the Beta Blockers, and deliberately not taking my inhaler to prolong the chest pain, would this be considered a form of self harm, I don't think it's excessively bad and don't think it'll cause lasting damage but is like a form of self punishment, I know most people will say take the inhaler, and I do eventually, I just wanted any thoughts on this, thanks.

You're deliberately causing yourself pain, so I would say yes, that is self harm.

Thanks I'll speak to my GP about it on my next appointment, see if he can help me stay off the cigarettes to prevent the trigger and correlation of pain from this with self harm, as I don't want to risk it becoming worse xx.
