wow this is a great thread, lots of new songs to add to my itunes... heres some more:
Azure Ray- The Drinks We Drank Last Night (not really about SI but really pretty)
Evaline- A Protest In Lines Too Thin To Read (SI and eating disorder, slow-ish)
New Years Day- Razor (moderatly slow)
Scary Kids Scaring Kids- The Bright Side Of Suffering (screamo, but so sweet)
Drop Dead, Gorgeous- In Vogue (short, hardcore screaming, SI towards the end)
Day and night I have only tears for food, while my enemies continually taunt me... My heart is breaking as I remember how it use to be...
So many different songs about SI. I like that there are songs of different musical styles.
I found the video of the song of Between The Trees which someone mentioned here.
I haven´t known the song and the video before but I guess that it would be good to say that the video is very graphic and triggering.
I can't control my destiny.
I trust my soul. My only goal is just to be. (Rent)
I'm selfish, inpatient and a little insecure.
I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle but if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best. (Marilyn Monroe)
Action Action has a pretty good song that mentions self injury, but it's not really about that. It starts out kinda slow, but it gets faster and louder, but still kinda mellow. Here are the lyrics:
"Wait, I really don't have the guts for this
It must have been abstracted with my appendix
Or maybe it grows with my wisdom teeth
Wait, it might be such a stretch, it's not my fault legally
I'll dial the doctors now, you're right I never was a man for the law
Please don't walk away in defeat, please don’t walk away
Wait, I haven't lost my courage on the rocks
I haven't quite found the words to use
I'm not sure they make the cards to break this ice
Wait, please wait until our socks are bitterly soaked
Until we have to roll up our pants
Until the giraffes flee to row boats
Please don't walk away in anger darling
Exit gracefully like the evening's sunset
Enter the scene starting with a dial tone
Tightrope over these razorblade complications
Cutting myself, almost everyday
Let it feel so real, let me taste the pain
One day we'll live in igloos on the Galapagos
'Till then let's remember the Atlantic air in-between our hands
The worms are moving, the grass is growing
Flowers are blooming, the leaves are dropping
The birds are chirping, clouds are forming
The sun is burning, self medication never ends
I taught you how to hate, you taught me how to love too
This is how I lost my mind on you
I taught you how to hate, you taught me how to love too
This is how I lost my mind on you
I taught you how to hate, you taught me how to love too
This is how I lost my mind on you
I taught you how to hate, you taught me how to love too
This is how I lost my mind on you
This is our final dance
You taught me how to love and I taught you how to hate
Everything is based on you
Isn't it funny how we lost control or how I lost my mind on you?
This is our final dance
You taught me how to love and I taught you how to hate
Everything is based on you
Isn't it funny how we lost control or how I lost my mind on you?"
Also, pretty much everything off of Park's album, "It Won't Snow Where You're Going" is about self injury an being suicidal. I don't recomend it if you're on edge. But I do enjoy it very much. There's also a warning on the cd about the musical content. It's kinda Whiney emo. Probably not quite what you are looking for.
God, I used to have a whole cd full of them, but I don't know what they are. I'll look when I get home. Take it easy.
Wounded by Good Charlotte- not sure if it is meant to be about SI but I think that the text fits very good to SI

yes, it is hip hop which may not be a crowd pleaser here, but please remember he is a poet. this guy is actually a super respected slam poet and spoken word artist within his community and his lyrics are smart, and honest.
Corinna Fugate - Cold. It's an amazing song, check out the video on YouTube! You can also get her albums on iTunes!
cna get cold for free as an mp3 on payplay.fm
that song gave me chills, i love it
Half Psychotic Sick Hypnotic
We sat and waited for the sea
To stretch out so that we could disappear
Into the endlessness of blue Into the horror of the truth We are far less than we knew
Bright Eyes "No lies, Just Love" is being suicidal and getting past it .. beautiful song though not exactly about SI
Half Psychotic Sick Hypnotic
We sat and waited for the sea
To stretch out so that we could disappear
Into the endlessness of blue Into the horror of the truth We are far less than we knew
Razorblade - Blue October The Way She Feels = Between The Trees.
"The Way She Feels"
Shes upset
Bad day
Heads for the dresser drawer to
Drive her pain away
Nothing good can come of this.
She opens it theres nothing there
Is only left over tears
Mom and dad had no right she screams
As the anger runs down both of her cheeks.
Then she closed her eyes
And found relief in a knife
The blood flows as she cries
All alone the way she feels
Left alone to deal with all the pain-drenched sorrow relief
Bite the lip just forget the bleeding
Then she closed her eyes
And found relief in a knife
The blood flows as she cries [x2]
Curled up shes on the floor
Relief left her she had hoped for something more
From it (hoped for something more)
From it
He leans down to comfort her
She is weeping and He
Wraps His arms around
And around and around and...
The deeper you cut
The deeper I hurt
The deeper you cut
It only gets worse
Now shes slowly opening...
New eyes...
Then she opened her eyes
And found relief through His life
And put down her knives
Then she opened her life
And found relief through His eyes
And put down
She put down her life

yeh, i was gonna say this one.
I roll over and hold on tightly, and whisper "If they want you, they're gonna have to fight me,"
