Triggering (Suicide) - movie in religion

we watched a movie in religion today, and we are going to be watching it for the next few days.. but basically (this is why there is a trig on the post title) there was a scene in which a girl slit her wrists in the bathtub and they found her there. it didnt show her wrists but it showed blood and her body and they were like, oh my god she used a straight razor. and i didnt know what to do, so i just shut my eyes and tried to block it out but yeah. i dont know how to deal with stuff like that, you know. any advice? i dont like the feeling this gives me..

I know how you feel *hugs*
I get a really bad reaction to this kind of stuff too
Mainly I get the image in my head and want to do it to myself
I get images like that stuck in my head for weeks after seeing them

Maybe the best thing you could do in future (if nobody knows about your SI) is make up some kind of excuse about being very very squeemish about blood,
tell whoever it is your watching it with that the sight of blood or gore makes you sick so that you can leave the room?

Thats the best I can think of , sorry.
but I know exactly what you mean.
I don't like the way stuff like that makes me feel.
But it's kind of because I get a sick enjoyment out of it.
Like I could imagine doing it to myself and enjoying it, which is scary.

yeah, i think besides the SI/suicide aspect it bothers me because i've known people who have slit their wrists, or have talked about it, and then i just imagine it in my head and the thought of losing them kills me. i don't know. they survived but still.

Relating story time...the other day i watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre* with my boyfriend and two friends and there's a scene, if you've never seen it, where the crazy guy has a kid strapped to a table and is cutting his arms and tearing off the skin and what not. What I did was started a conversation with my boyfriend looked away and told him that I couldn't watch it, he understood. Advice: ask your teacher if there are anymore scenes like that in the movie, if they ask why tell them you don't like blood.
Afterward, i did have a nightmare that night about cutting myself really bad and it was sucky for the night and the next day, but it'll be okay. Pinky swear.

I know how that feels it's so hard to watch and then to deal with the urges .
Shut your eyes and distract yourself while the scene is over , try to think about something that will make you forget the scene .

Try to take deep breathes they usually help me to get through , i don't know if it may help you you just need to know what is suitable for you .
