You are not useless and SH unfortunately can be very addictive - because its sometimes the only thing that seems to be able to help.

There was some part of me that hurt so badly, that I wouldn't ever be able to forget it.
It faded but the memories could bring it back any second, keeping me in the moment.
It would never fully heal. I could never really be free. I could never really be fixed.
Now I just have to work out how to live whilst being broken.
I feel like I'm dying.

how did your day go?
only way to get a less painful past is to press on into the future and make the future better (because the future will eventually become the past). right now the bad is predominant, but if you make the future better, eventually the good will overwhelm the bad.
it is like an addiction; it is also something that you can beat though. you can quit self harm if you put in the effort and direct it the right way... do you want to try and do that?
